The company's commitment to realizing 'Connecting the Nations' in order to expand operational reach and connect all corners of the archipelago

 

SURABAYA, October 22, 2021 - An integrated logistics service provider company PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB Group), which is a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABMM), is strengthening its cargo network by opening a direct route from Jakarta - Surabaya to Balikpapan. The opening of this new route is a manifestation of the company's commitment to improving logistics services in the country, especially from Surabaya to Balikpapan. The presence of this new route also strengthens CKB's commitment to realizing 'Connecting the Nations' to connect all remote points of the archipelago with the service and support of a professional team.

Chief Executive Officer of PT Cipta Krida Bahari Iman Sjafei explained, as a company that has experience in transporting cargo throughout Indonesia, CKB is ready to assist customers in meeting logistics needs, especially from Surabaya to Balikpapan. “A faster delivery process is needed to increase sales and product profitability. Therefore, by opening a direct air shipping route from Jakarta - Surabaya to Balikpapan, this will certainly save shipping costs and make shipping more efficient," explained Iman.

Surabaya itself is the second largest city in Indonesia after DKI Jakarta and the largest metropolitan city in East Java. In addition, the city of Surabaya also has a variety of large market potential, ranging from the fisheries, agriculture, daily necessities, to vehicle spare parts. Making it a strong trading center, as well as a potential gateway for trade routes to eastern Indonesia.

Regarding the delivery to Surabaya and Balikpapan with the special air transportation mode for cargo presented by CKB, it uses a Boeing 737-300 aircraft with a cargo capacity of up to 16.3 tons, thus enabling the specification of the OWOS (Over Weight Over Size) load. "We hope that the presence of this new (freight) route can help business actors in Surabaya in optimizing their supply chain processes, starting from the movement and management of raw materials and components to the delivery of finished goods to customers," added Iman.

In this inaugural flight, customers have begun to take advantage of the new route and entrust the delivery of logistics needs through CKB with a total cargo weight of more than 12 tons. With this new flight route, it is hoped that customers and business actors can adapt to their business model in addition to logistics needs in the Kalimantan area and Eastern Indonesia.

PT Cipta Krida Bahari's Business Director Logistics & Distribution Ety Puspitasari explained that the Jakarta - Surabaya - Balikpapan route service is one of the CKB Group's strategies in implementing the 'Connecting the Nations' strategy. "We are optimistic that the presence of this new route can complement logistics services in Surabaya and it is hoped that it will make it easier for business people to meet their logistics needs, as well as build synergies between all logistics sector stakeholders in East Java, such as fish entrepreneurs, farmers, the ministry and the CKB Group so as to produce ecosystem together in improving the national economy in general and the welfare of the people of Surabaya in particular,” explained Ety.
